Nuku Hiva.

We had only a short stop in Ua Pou and just managed to have a stroll through the town. We lifter anchors at 11:30 and sailed the 26 nm to Nuku Hiva in a little less than three hours.

Ua Pou's skyline is very dramatic.
A few photos from our morning walk in Ua Pou.

 Leaving Ua Pou aft.
Arriving in Nuku Hiva, the main town in the Marquises.

A stroll in Nuku Hiva town Taiohae gave the following photos.

New Dawn at anchor in the bay.

Interesting to note that Herman Melville's book "Typee"  was made on the setting of this area. He spend some time with a tribe.

Here a Cow had been slaughtered. Not very appetizing.
