A Rough Trip To Cartagena, Columbia.

The first part of the trip went smoothly, but as most sailors know this is a stretch that will bring huge waves and at times 40 kn winds, and we expected to get our portion of that.

Here the winds started and the waves quickly build to 4-5 m.
This is how a 5 meter wave looks like when approaching from the aft.

 And another one approaching.
Sailing along the Columbian coast.

With just this small sail set we sailed at a speed of 4-5.5 kn. We did our best to slow down the boat to arrive during daylight.

Approaching Cartagena early morning 22 December 2013.
