Back In Whangarei, NZ, A Cyclone And Some Working.
The Cyclone "Pam" did a huge damage to Vanuatu islands with winds of 280 km and at one time it was heading for the North Island of NZ, where I am. Fortunately it took a slightly SE course and we got the side of the Cyclone with winds of 160 km, which is more than enough. The Barometer dropped as can be seen to about 1000 Mb in only a few hours. The eye was 955 Mb, which I have never experienced. During the night it was almost impossible to sleep as New Dawn was shaking a lot, even though I had secured everything including the Ito bars holding her. All went well, but the rain was tremendous for two days.
The new, in 2013, Camping Gas bottles have rusted to an extend that I don't dare using them anymore. Unfortunately NZ don't have glass fiber gas bottles, so my only way to change the gas bottles was to go back to the Aluminium bottles, which I bought two of in Auckland and changed the complete installation. The above photo shows the Camping Gas installation and below the new installation. I still have a bit of work to do before it is completed. I also had the cooker serviced in Auckland, and it works like new again.
This is my current office and local transportation.
