Kadavu and The Great Astrolabe Reef, Fiji.

Saturday 11.10.2014:

We ended up spending more time in Savu than planned as the Westerbeke Generator started to overheat. I spend almost two days changing the impeller, which mean that the water pump has to be taken off to get to the impeller, and then I also took off the exhaust system and pipes. Two of the pipes needed changing and off we went to town finding these special type of pipes. After several hours we found one correct pipe and one that will do and back into the engine room and reinstalling it all again. In the end the tests I did were, so far, positive and I hope the problem is now sorted out.

Yesterday we set sail and sailed in a fantastic favourable wind the 50 NM to the Kadavu island and its Great Astrolabe Reef. There are hardly any boats here and so far we have only seen two other sailing boats. The weather ended up changing and we had a lot of rain and thunder. Today the sun shine, but the forecast is for light variable winds from all directions.

 Our anchorage for the night.
