Back In Opua, NZ.

On my way north to Opua and the Bay Of islands, NZ.

All shiny again, after spending 45 days working on New Dawn and eleven days polishing her.

This is Kai's sisters boat looking smart after 2.5 years of work.

Launched.

Finally we are ready for the launching, after 36 days of work. But I still have almost two pages with Jobs-To-Do.

One of our friends Sven from Denmark also launched today, but he thinks he will be here another 4-6 weeks to finish his list of jobs.

Nearly Ready For The Splash.

 Propeller painted with Porp-Speed.
 New Vinyl on the aft.
Yet another battery failed. This one I bought in Tahiti in July 2014, so only nine months old.

Easter And Work Continues.

When I woke up Easter Sunday I found this Easter Egg Basket on the deck. One of my US neighbours had placed it there. Very nice.
Today we installed six new batteries and it is a very heavy job. Bruce was a great help and we gave the old batteries to our British friend, living here in Whangarei, and they will try to sell them, as they are almost new; I only change them as three are 120 Ah and the other three are 165 Ah, which is not ideal for longer term use, as they tend to destroy each other quickly. Well that is the theory, at least.

At Dockland 5 Yard.

The preparation work for the Anti Fouling paint is a big task and I was wearing out slowly, so to save me painting the 20 l AF paint, which usually take me two days, I had Charlie, the MD at the Yard come and spraying it. It took Charlie and his assistant Doug 1.5 h and it is well dome. Herewith today's photos.
