Portobelo To Shelter Bay Marina And A Trip To Panama City.

Hauling out in Shelter Bay Marina, Panama.

Queen Elisabeth going through the Gutan Locks.

The extension is well advanced for the Panama Canal.
Here we take the old train from 1855 from Colon to Panama City.

Enjoying the trip. This railway was constructed long before the Canal and about 12.000 workers dies constructing it, mainly from Malaria and Yellow Fever. If we add the 44.000 workers that died constructing the Canal, it totals about 66.000 that died constructing the two. A terrible figure.
The man made lake that feed the water to the Canal logs.

Well arrived in Panama City.

Ah the Panama Hats..........

Loads of police and guns in these countries. Here is the bike police in action, and there are a lot of them. Frightening.

I found this Panamanian mafioso lady in the City.

The Kuna's are also here selling their Mola's.

A quick visit to the old town, which was of little interest.
One evening we went to this restaurant where the dinner consist of 10 different plates and cost USD 38/person, plus USD 60 for two bottles of red wine.

The chef cook was quite a character and extremely friendly.

One of the ten plates.

And it kept coming.

Yours truly, appreciating it all; except the bill......

Then we visited the Miraflore Logs, and enjoyed the close up look of it all and was a lesson for my transit.

A visit to the Canal Museum.

The construction of the expansion
